Job ID: 21-11280Title: Network Administrator IILocation: Denver, COType: Direct PlacementJob Description:PURPOSE Under general supervision, responsible for the administration and maintenance of all network and telephony related infrastructure. Designs and implements networking/telephony solutions based upon business requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs day-to-day administration of the network and telephony infrastructure. Acts as an escalation point to junior administrators and the network operations center.
- Works a ticket queue to ensure issues are being resolved in a timely fashion
- Resolves LAN and WAN issues at remote locations
- Coordinates installations of new equipment with local site contacts
- Works with vendors to ensure cabling/equipment installations are completed per business requirements
- Configures routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless access points / controllers, SD-WAN appliances in break/fix and new deployment scenarios
- Performs software upgrades and patching on any supported devices
- Researches technologies and works with engineers to design/implement solutions based upon business initiatives
- Provides training and documentation to the NOC and Administrator teams for newly deployed technologies
- Participates in a rotating on-call schedule
- Competent and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals
- Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- Five (5) years of network administration or related experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Understands functions of devices such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load balancers, WLAN Controllers / Access points, SD-WAN appliances and VoIP phones / servers
- Understands layer 2 switching concepts/technologies: MAC addresses, VLANs, Trunks, STP, PVST, RVPST, MST
- FHRPs: HSRP, VRRP and GLBP
- Knowledge of routing protocols such as: OSPF, EIGRP, eBGP/iBGP
- Knowledge of NAC and AAA protocols: TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1x
- Knowledge of NAC solutions such as Cisco Client or Aruba Clearpass
- Knowledge of network discovery protocols: SNMP, Netflow, CDP and LLDP
- Knowledge of Access Control Lists (ACLs)
- Knowledge of Data Center Technologies: VPCs, Cisco ACI
- Understands common network troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup
- Understanding of Quality-of-Service (QoS)
- Understands Network Services such as: DNS and DHCP
- Knowledge of web filtering: HTTP/HTTPS, SSL decryption
- Knowledge of VPNs: Remote-Access and Site-to-Site, DMVPN, SD-WAN
- Knowledge of copper and fiber transport medias and their associated standards
- Knowledge of VoIP/Digital/Analog Telephony technologies such as: SIP, SCCP, H.323, MGCP, FXO/FXS, ISDN
- Knowledge of Public Cloud environments: AWS, Azure and GCP
- Knowledge of Cloud Security offerings: Zscaler, Umbrella, Prisma Access
- Knowledge of Network Monitoring software: Solarwinds, DNA Center, Logic Monitor, etc.
- Strong desire to learn new and emerging technologies
- CCNA/CCNP Or equivalent knowledge/experience
