Job Req #: 21-12561Job Description: Product Architect (Product Lead/Asset Management)Location: Denver, CO OR Boston, MAPosition Type: Permanent/Full-Time Our client, a leading asset management firm, is looking to hire a Product Architect who will be the US leader for the PMAR team and oversee the product owners. This team is highly technical. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and have previous leadership experience. Asset management experience is required. Experience in performance measurement, attribution, risk, operations, or trading within asset management would be ideal!Role Overview: The Global Technology department plays a crucial role in supporting the success of the business. We are responsible for developing and implementing state-of-the-art software and hardware maintenance to support our fund management, trading, distribution and operational areas with secure, stable and resilient technology platforms.You are responsible for Product Design and Architecture in conjunction with the development teams for PMAR (Performance Measurement, Attribution, and Risk) Technology. You will work alongside the Product Manager to oversee and communicate strategic deliverables to stakeholders. This role will provide aid to Product Owners with planning, development and execution of their roadmaps. This role primarily works on larger inter-connected business processes, projects of large scope, and very complex environments that usually involve multiple departments or have companywide impact. You will offer senior level business analysis expertise to less experienced business analyst staff. In this role you will be encouraged to prepare and present analysis findings and recommendations to project teams, business departments and up-to and including executive management. You will be working closely with IT and business management to prioritize, sequence, and feed work to the agile teams, ensuring that work is relayed to all impacted teams in a manner that ensures dependent components are delivered concurrently. Good communication and leadership skills are important as regular reporting with senior stakeholders and technology is expected globally.Duties and responsibilitiesYou will:Deputize Product Manager and help communicate strategic deliverables to partnersAdhere to design aspects and principles as agreed at the EARBAssist Product Owners when developing roadmapsHelp with the planning and follow-through of new product releases alongside Product ManagerRecruit, train, develop and lead colleagues including product owners, scrum masters and business analystsCoordinate resource allocation to BAU scrums and projects and management of project delivery roadmapsOversee and review the quality of work produced, ensuring that improvements and projects managed within the team adhere to the governance framework and any other practice standards that the firm has adoptedCollaborate with other Technology Delivery Change teams to align standard methodologies and improve ways of workingBuild relationships with and manage senior business partners from all areas of the client globallyHandle and call out risks and issues that may prevent the successful delivery of projects through the appropriate channelsCoordinate activities and enable collaboration across impacted teams / areasReport planning results and epic status to senior management, business owners, epic owners, product owners, and other stakeholdersParticipate in project reviews with business sponsors at all phases of a project to ensure project is on-track and to aid in maintaining business support, involvement and acceptancePrepare status reports and presentations for various types of audiences and levels of management as requiredSupport the transformation to product management / agile delivery approaches ensuring that improvement scrums and projects adhere to consistent standards as set by the firmCarry out additional duties as assignedTechnical skills and qualificationsSolid grasp of change delivery within the asset management sectorWide experience of business analysis across several different systems and/or teamsGood understanding of agile delivery methodologiesHigh level of technical skill in use of business analysis techniques, methodologies and artifacts to support agile software developmentHave a solid understanding of financial products and processes used in Asset ManagementBe a strong leader who is equally comfortable facing off to steering, challenging senior stakeholders and advising service providers and internal teamsStrong abstraction, organization and simplification skillsExcellent issue management with ability to keep all relevant parties passionate about deliveryExperience of working in a global environment managing stakeholders across the globeStrong analytical skills required, including a detailed understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirementsAbility to analyze high-level requirements and translate these to overall detailed system-level design to be used for architectural design, cost / benefit analysis, and solution developmentRecognizes the importance of superior quality in providing a competitive edgeClient focused, committed to excellence, good attention to detail and a standout colleagueTaking ownership for successful deliveryAbility to work across functional teamsExperience of front office, risk and performance team activities is helpfulDetailed knowledge of performance and risk systems is advantageousAble to balance multiple assignments, priorities, and projects in a demanding environmentProven experience of working with third party vendors to develop and implement roadmaps in line with the product strategy and architecture is helpfulExperience of delivering change in the front office on order management platformsThe base salary range for this position is $145,000-$160,000.
