Senior DevOps Engineer - DIRECT HIRE (FT, Permanent position)$113,000.00/year - $138,000.00/year, based on experience (Open to negotiation, based on experience) + Profit sharing + equity
GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Denver, CO looking to add a Senior DevOps Engineer to their team. The role is a direct hire position with remote flexibility, however, some onsite work will be required, as needed. Responsibilities:- Operating Cost (driving the most scalable techniques)
- System Performance (meet and beat expectations)
- Delivery Pipeline (rapidly going from inception to production)
- Data Storage (available, resilient, protected)
- Environments (infrastructure, maintenance, engineering workflow)
- Telemetry (an eye on everything, early issue detection and mitigation)
- Caching (balance data update frequency with operating cost)
- Testing (work towards no surprises in production)
- Security (keep our systems working for us)
- Prototyping (rapidly explore new techniques, integrate the best)
- Augment (help a team with a deliverable)
- 5+ years of experience with software engineering
- 2+ years of implementing and maintaining distributed systems with Kubernetes and accompanying ecosystem of tools
- You have knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, and agile methodologies
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with observability and tracing of distributed systems
- Implemented and managed CI/CD pipelines
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Linux shells/internals and containerizing workloads
- Experience debugging complex problems
- Experience implementing and operating large-scale distributed systems built with multiple languages and frameworks
- You are highly skilled in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, Rust
- Understands networking and messaging, especially between services
- AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud platforms
