Job Description

This position reports to the VP of Network Processing Architecture and Consulting and is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a sub-set of the Architecture team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide inspirational leadership and technical guidance to the architecture team
  • Mentor staff members to help them gain knowledge and achieve their career goals
  • Maintainstaff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developingpersonal growth opportunities
  • Partner with application developers, architects, engineers, and various groups supporting Network Processing systems and interfacing applications to drive new initiatives
  • Serves as liaison between the various organizational entities and builds relationships with members of these organizations
  • Keep senior management informed of progress and any obstacles impeding the successful architecture, implementation of projects and other departmental activities thru status reports, presentations, etc.
  • Demonstratebusiness acumen to work effectively with all levels of the organization toachieve key business and technology goals
  • Develop vision, strategies and roadmaps to meet business objectives with existing or emerging technologies by partnering with Product stakeholders
  • Contribute to the organizational development of the Architecture team including setting the vision, charter, goals and processes to encourage continual improvement
  • Foster innovation and leverage new technologies
  • Apply creative thinking/approach to determine technical solutions that further business goals and align with corporate technology strategies, keeping in mind security, performance, reliability, scalability, usability, flexibility, and cost
  • Provide resource plans, budget tracking and forecasting.Manage the team to achieve target scope, schedule and cost objectives
  • Instill best practices for software / systems architecture and documentation, assure conceptual approaches
  • Meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules
  • Operational Excellence: monitoring & operation of production services including understanding user experience and ensuring happy customers through partnering with your product support team
  • Career management and development of direct reports

Qualifications

Basic Qualification

15 years of experience in the payments or information technology industry with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Requirements

Deep technical and business knowledge of VisaNet, payments processing, the payments industry and emerging trends Expert in the payment business and products and services provided by VisaNet Understanding of the various regulatory environment(s) that guide Visa’s entry into various domestic markets Demonstrable experience with architecting solutions for highly scalable, highly available systems Excellent communication skills including a proven track record of producing artifacts for senior and executive audiences using MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Visio Ability to manage constantly changing priorities, whilst still guiding staff toward producing high quality deliverables - multi-tasking essential to handle multiple priorities with minimal direction from management Proven leadership capabilities with a record of exceeding expectations with respect to the “how” portion of the Visa Leadership Principles

Additional Information

Work Hours: This position requires the incumbent to be available during and beyond core business hours.

Travel Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 5% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
