- Provides primary support for computers, mobile devices, servers, routers, software, applications and networking utilized in the PD in compliance with CJIS requirements in accordance with established Service Level Objectives.
- Installs, configures and troubleshoots public safety network including in-car routers with multiple LTE connections.
- Upgrades server and network hardware and software components as required.
- Provides design, planning and implementation support for Police Department IT projects to include project management of assigned projects.
- Evaluate, recommend and train users on public safety technology systems and applications
- Assist in coordination with Local, State and Federal agencies as needed to support required data exchange connections and implementation
- Assist the IT Business Analysts in liaising with vendors with respect to security-related products and services.
- In collaboration with IT Business Analysts, review and evaluation of equipment and software alternatives for PD and recommends solutions, ensuring compliance with security standards and procurement policy.
- Provision, install, configure, operate, upgrade, and maintain PD systems, hardware, software, servers, routers and networking/system infrastructure.
- Prepare and maintain documentation pertaining to policies, procedures and IT systems.
- Ensures that all work is end-user focused, committed to excellence, with a strong attention to detail during all phases of the system lifecycle.
- Establish, support, and continuously improve enterprise security by researching, recommending, and adopting cybersecurity and CJIS best practices.
- Assist with external auditing functions including NIST, CJIS, and other audits.
- Act as SME and improve CJIS Awareness among all PD end-users.
- Review annually and coordinates changes to the CJIS Incident Response Plan.
- Work closely with other IT teams to address security requirements for all CJIS systems, whether on-premises or cloud-hosted.
- Work closely with other IT teams to identify, contain, and remediate end-user related security incidents (viruses, credential compromises).
- Assist in the preparation of bid specifications, requests for proposals or requests for information.
- In cooperation with IT staff and PD staff, participate in table-top exercises and other approved drills to test incident response.
- Provide on-call after hours support as required.
- Document all work products and progress in the IT Service Management System.

- Working knowledge of managing end to end support on enterprise applications, servers, desktop, laptop, cameras, and mobile devices
- Working knowledge of LTE routers including Cradle Point
- Strong knowledge of industry security standards and best practices including NIST 800-53
- Knowledge of the theory, principles, practices, and methods of management and administration of information systems, including systems analysis, design, construction, monitoring, maintenance, testing, documentation, training, and production support
- Knowledge of security technologies including firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPs
- Knowledge of network and cabling theory and applications.
- Knowledge of network protocols, architecture and system design
- Knowledge of penetration testing, network security, and the techniques used to expose and correct security flaws
- Knowledge of current Microsoft Server operating systems and server hardware
- Knowledge of enterprise server virtualization - VMWare preferred
- Knowledge of enterprise storage and backup technology - Veeam preferred
- Knowledge of Disaster Recovery methodology, daily operations, and recovery considerations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, SAML SSO, and Office365 system administration
- Knowledge of Cisco switch, routing, firewalls, wireless, and access/identity
- Knowledge of Security Awareness Training and Phishing Campaign applications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, and WSUS
- Knowledge of SQL server including queries and data migrations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Technology Management or a related field and at least five to seven years of system/network administration and support experience required.
- Prior experience in Security of Information Systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience in Windows Servers, Networking, Application and Mobile hardened computer support is required.
- Certifications in Microsoft Server and Cisco Networking is preferred.
- Experience and training in ITIL with ITIL Foundations Certification preferred.
- CJIS certified or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
