NIC Colorado, a division of Tyler Technologies is the organization behind eGovernment services in the State of Colorado. We are seeking applicants for an immediate full-time position as System Administrator in Denver, CO.
Job Description: Works with System Administration and Development teams to maintain, manage and document all systems in the Development, Non-Production, and Production environments. Works with Sr. Systems Administrator, Director of Development, and Director of IT Operations to identify system requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring systems, performing tests on systems and applications from a performance and security perspective. Job Responsibilities:- Works with senior technical staff and management teams in architecting technical solutions as needed.
- Recommends and leads projects requiring complex technical decision making.
- Provides input into delivery schedule of projects.
- Builds, documents and maintains secure systems in an Office, Datacenter, or Cloud environments by planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, VoIP systems, and operating and system management systems; defining and documenting system and operational policies and procedures.
- Assists in maintaining and documenting information systems; troubleshooting hardware, software, networks and operating system
- Responsible for keeping information systems patched, via WSUS or approved solutions.
- Upgrades systems by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.
- Meets reporting requirements by running and submitting SLA and other reports as required
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Reviews infrastructure logs, alerts, and emails daily to ensure continued availability, integrity, and security of systems.
- Works all assigned support tickets to ensure resolution within the target timeframes.
- Assist senior technical stuff in securing and developing configuration/systems management tools and code.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in both Linux and Windows server networked environment. Knowledge of desktop system administration, server and desktop hardening, basic networking, database concepts.
- Familiarity with basic security concepts such as MFA, SSO; web security concepts such as cross-site scripting, DDoS a bonus.
- On-call rotation with rest of team
- Familiarity with state and federal guidelines and tasks surrounding compliance with NIST, HIPPA, SOX, and PCI-DSS a bonus.
