Our client, a leading provider of computing, applications management, IT procurement, network, and telecommunications services to public organizations, is looking to hire a Web Content Designer.
Key Responsibilities:- Designing and developing content for websites that includes, but is not limited to, the development of graphics, icons and other visual content. - Contractor will report to the Department's Project Manager or designee.- Contractor shall work closely and collaboratively with the Project Manager, the Presentation Layer Developer (technical lead) and the Web Management Team throughout the duration to discuss suggestions or issues and incorporate guidance from the Department while performing the work described.- Contractor shall alert the Department s Project Manager, when issues or potential risks are encountered that will affect the project.- Contractor shall provide documentation to the Project Manager. This documentation must provide details on the work provided and at a level a Department employee can use the information to support the work at the end of the contract.- The Contractor shall submit detailed status reports or participate in weekly status meetings as required by the Department during the engagement.- The Contractor shall attend required meetings with the required project stakeholders as directed by the Department. These meetings will be scheduled by a Department employee. All questions and communication should go through the Project Manager. If they are not available, thye will designate a Department employee for the communication.- Contractor shall retain all work papers generated for reference through the duration of the project and project acceptance.- Contractor shall respond to all telephone calls, voicemail, and e-mail inquiries from the Department within one business day.- Will use Informatica and/or SQL to load presentation layer tables for the creation of visuals and information which will be displayed on the Department's website. - Contractor may be requested to provide recommendations, documentation, and knowledge transfer to staff. - With the guidance of the Enterprise Architect and Presentation Layer Developer (Team Lead), the contractor shall review internal Department documentation and use this information to design a reporting layer on Azure environment. - Design, implement, and maintain new presentation layer tables and visual representations to make data more accessible. - Requires a confidentiality contract between Department and Contractor. - Contractor shall demonstrate their understanding of the overall project goals and the specific goals as pertains to the contractor s assignment for this project to the satisfaction of the Project Manager.- Contractor be able to advise and provide guidance on the requested work.- Contractor will develop, maintain, and support Extract Transform and Load processes which are written using Informatica and/or SQL.- Contractor will thoroughly test and document each step taken and perform knowledge transfer to Department staff.Required Experience:- 5 years of experience developing using Drupal.- 3 years of experience making web content compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA).- 3 years of experience using Tableau Desktop to create visuals.- 3 years of experience using SQL.- Gathering and Data Modeling Skills- Ability to work with customers to gather reporting requirements and translate into a data model for reporting using Tableau, Power BI, and Ad-hoc queries.- Strong administrative skills including repository management and knowledge of best practices regarding aggregate tables and data marts.- Azure and Data Warehouse ETL Skills- Experience working on Azure and implementing reporting layer tables using ETL logic which pulls data from an Oracle or SQL Server database.- Experience working with star schemas and loading reporting layer table.- Preferred experience with Informatica or IICS or similar ETL tool.- Business Intelligence Skills- Experience in web development using Drupal on an Apache Server. - Experience integrating Tableau or Power BI visuals into the web environment using Drupal on an Apache Server.- Experience in implementing ADA accessibility requirements and best practices when developing web pages, as well as visuals using Tableau or Power BI.- Experience creating dashboards using Tableau or Power BI. - Experience working with the creation of data sources and actual implementation of visualization dashboards.- Strong oral and written communication skills working with both business users and technical staffPreferred Qualifications:- Experience in daily content publishing and writing for multiple audiences- Proficiency in the use of content management software, such as Microsoft SharePoint, Ektron, Drupal, Convio, and Kintera. - Connecting Drupal to an external database, Oracle preferred.- May require an associate's degree or its equivalent and at least 9 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
