CULINAIRE is in search for an experienced COOK to work in a professional environment in the Ponti Restaurant in the Martin Building at the Denver Art Museum. This COOK role will ensure the creation of great food for guest for the restaurant, and if interested, can assist with the catered events and outlet. This is an excellent development role for any culinary professional looking to grow into a Sous Chef. Candidates can walk in for immediate interview between Tuesday - Sunday from 9:00 a - 11:00 a or 2:30 p - 4:30 p.

A few important responsibilities:

Produce high quality hot and cold foods according to the recipes developed by the Executive Chef

Organize all food prep stations to ensure a smooth and efficient flow in the kitchen

Ensures that the inventory of supplies is completed regularly and items are always in stock

Prepares ala carte requested food items as needed to meet special guest dietary needs

Ensures that all service lines are replenished as needed and continued on an ongoing basis

Prepares all stations and ensures that the kitchen is clean and ready for the next shift

Communicates timely when kitchen or menu items need to be ordered

Ensures that the deliveries are stores in their proper place and in a timely manner

Ensures that all kitchen areas are kept organized and clean to include the storage shelves, hallways, work surfaces, walk-ins, refrigerators and coolers

Assists with coaching and training the prep cooks and other newly hired staff members in the kitchen

Labels and day dots all production items

Requisition of all food products for station setup to fluctuations of business needs

Project food products for production needs

Identifies and selects cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game, fruit or vegetables for cold food production

Ensures proper temperature controls in food production and service
