We are currently hiring for a full time UV Printing Press Operator. We are looking for a driven individual with a passion for creating cool new things. Attention to detail is imperative due to the demanding nature of electronics assembly and related UV printing. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has two + years of related experience and training (preferably printing on metal) or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Position Description:

WMD Is looking for an experienced and driven individual to join our team as a part of the Art and Graphics department. This individual will be responsible for preparing art files and executing direct-to-medium printing using a Mimaki 3042 UV Printer. The job requires great attention to detail as this person will be responsible for the aesthetic inspection of incoming flat stock and enclosures, as well as the quality gate for all products printed in-house. The proper candidate will be willing to learn and adapt processes and work with the rest of his/her team to produce the best results possible. Communication is also key as this job requires direct email communication with our clients as well as machine techs, product suppliers, as well as the rest of the WMD team.

Job Responsibilities

- Running and maintaining a Mimaki 3042 UV printer.

- Perform manual and machine operator tasks related to set-up, operating and maintenance of the Mimaki press.

- Keeping track of consumables and properly requesting that reorders be made.

- Using design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw

- Preparing art files for print using Rasterlink software.

- Spotting irregularities BEFORE they go into production

- Maintaining environmental controls as humidity and temperature are very important to the success and accuracy of printing equipment.

- Prepping print mediums by cleaning, flame treating, and ionizing material. Must be comfortable with handling a blowtorch safely.

- Using a sharp eye and measurement tools to ensure proper alignment and quality.

- Problem solving skills are a must as we need someone who can get to the bottom of issues before they become major problems.

- Accurate communication with clients to ensure that goals are met and production happens in a clean, effective, timely and efficient manner.

- Open and honest dialogue with co-workers and our team to ensure that all projects are received and completed on time.

- Using great care when handling materials that will ultimately be the face of our final product.

- Never ignorant, always honest, and comfortable with doing what it takes to get the job done and get goals accomplished on time with spot on accuracy.

- High level of attention to minute detail.

- Ability to efficiently manage time to meet specified deadlines.

- Other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements:

- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Regular lifting of items around 10 pounds.

- This position requires regular lifting and transitioning from sitting to standing. 4-6 hours of sitting per day. 2-4 hours of standing per day.

- Proper vision and keen attention to detail. Must be able to spot small blemishes on finished metal and powder coated materials.

- Must have patience and positive attitude. Using machinery can be an arduous and repetitive task.

Technicians are provided detailed instructions and training for each task and are expected to maintain a high level of quality and consistency in all aspects of the job. The position is based in our Central-Denver headquarters.

The ideal candidate will be infectiously positive, have a professional demeanor, a solid work ethic and great communication skills. While we maintain a high level of professionalism and industry stature, WMD is a casual, fun, engaging, values-based company with a great work environment.

Please be highly organized, detail-oriented, punctual, dependable, computer and internet proficient (MS Word, MS Outlook, Publisher and Excel), have a great sense of humor, have the ability to prioritize and multi-task, have the ability to work well with others and alone and have a strong interest in being involved in the music equipment manufacturing industry/event business

Please also be sharp, savvy, a heads-down type of individual that can keep highly confidential information, craft and update detailed task lists.

Excellent customer service is a huge plus. Street smarts are also quite important. Keen attention to detail is required. Please be organized and inquisitive. Ability to interact professionally with all levels of executives, peers, interns and employees as well as the outside professionals and musicians we work with is also important. Understanding of the necessity of maintaining confidentiality in all matters is key, as is the ability to effectively problem solve and creatively think. A four year degree is preferred, but not required. Personality and skill trumps education. Any manufacturing, sales and marketing experience, project management and/or manufacturing related experience is a plus but not required. Other requirements are reliable transportation, must know central Denver well, and must like dogs.

Supervisory Responsibility - This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee will be sitting at a desk at least 6 hours per day.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position working standard business hours. This position may require the flexibility to work diverse schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays from time to time, with advance notice.

Additional Information: Benefits include healthcare, after approximately 75 days, 401K matching after one year of service at the next open enrollment, life, dental, LTD after approximately 75 days.
