SUMMARY

The BiLingual In-Home Therapist will be responsible for providing family therapy, individual therapy, parent skills training, case management services, advocacy, links to community resources, and crisis response in Spanish to families in their homes and the community. Additionally, occasional therapeutic services may be offered to the Outreach/Outpatient, Day Treatment, and Residential Treatment Programs at Denver Children's Home (DCH) as assigned. The BiLingual In-Home Therapist will maintain all clinical documentation or reporting, attend team meetings, and develop treatment plans using culturally competent, strengths-based, and trauma informed interventions. This position requires flexibility in shifts and on-call responsibilities.

SCHEDULE

The BiLingual In-Home Therapist needs to be available to work a flexible schedule that may include weekdays, weekends, and evening hours to meet program and organizational needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide individual therapy, family therapy, couples' therapy, sibling support, parent skills training in families' homes and in the community.

Design treatment plans that are sensitive to the client's and family's needs.

Implement treatment plans, evaluate progress, and maintain all required clinical documentation per agency policy in a timely manner.

Collaborate and coordinate with families, caseworkers, and other members of the treatment team (i.e. GAL's, PO's, teachers, outpatient therapists, psychiatrists, and other involved professionals) to ensure continuity of care from the time of admit to discharge.

Schedule and lead monthly staffing's, client meetings, and other treatment planning sessions as required (i.e. TDM's, IEP meetings, court hearings).

Oversee authorizations for client caseload (scheduling utilization reviews, attending reviews, completing all required paperwork per funding source, and ensuring that all clients have current authorizations for services).

Complete all required paperwork (i.e. contact logs, case notes, treatment plans, monthly reports, IIR's, CIR's, discharge reports, diagnostic assessments, service authorizations, and other reports and/or assessments as required), and adhere to all required deadlines per agency policy.

Develop, maintain, and terminate therapeutic relationships with clients and families as appropriate.

Collaborate and coordinate with Family Support Specialists to provide appropriate wrap-around services to families.

Assist in developing curriculum and lead psycho educational groups, parenting education classes, speaker series, and practical support groups at the DCH Family Resource Center as assigned.

Cover one week of on-call per month providing 24/7 as-needed crisis support to families via the DCH Intensive In-Home On Call Phone with the support of the Treatment Leader of Community-Based Programs.

Maintain compliance with annual DMV reviews, physicals, and all training and compliance requirements including attending in-service meetings.

Have and maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Interventions and intervene in crisis using approved crisis intervention strategies including physical management of clients.

Provide transportation for families to services or appointments.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a master's degree in a mental health related field (i.e. Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field).

Be licensed or license eligible in the state of Colorado.

Minimum of two years' experience working with children, adolescents, and families.

Experience working with clients with significant emotional disabilities, behavioral issues, and/or trauma in a home-based setting.

Experience providing family and individual therapy in client's homes and in the community.

Familiarity with residential and day-treatment level of care a plus.

Ability to quickly assess, identify, and develop specific and measurable goals and objectives for therapeutic interventions.

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as assigned.

Ability to pass a physical examination.

Ability to pass background check with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Ability to pass background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Ability to gain clearance through the Colorado Central Registry of Child Abuse and neglect

(TRAILS).

Have or obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.

Have or obtain and maintain QMAP certification.

Have or obtain and maintain certification in TCI.

Be a Qualified Driver as defined by the DCH Automobile Insurance Policy and complete

DCH Van Training to become transport eligible.

Must have a car and provide proof of adequate insurance coverage.

Ability to transport clients and provide services in the home and community as required

using own automobile (to be reimbursed per company policy), proof of insurance required.

Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Requires continuous walking, standing, sitting, fine hand or finger movement, detailed sight and hearing.

Significant and frequent use of physical and sensory requirements associated with verbal and written communication, hearing acuity and visual acuity to observe and record client behaviors and activities.

Ability to do restrictive procedures in accordance with Denver Children's Home Therapeutic Crisis Intervention guidelines.

Requires use of office equipment requiring repetitive wrist/hand movement and vision.

Ability to routinely perform light lifting of 1-20 lbs., with occasional moderate lifting of 21-60 lbs. and heavy lifting of more than 61 lbs.

Frequently pushes or pulls objects up to 60 lbs., with occasional pushing or pulling of objects over 61 lbs.

Frequent bending or stooping and reaching above shoulder level.

Requires climbing of stairs on a regular basis.

Occasional driving automatic equipment/vehicles.

May experience temperature fluctuations, from heat to cold due to environment changes of the Home and the need to work outdoors at times.

Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
