Direct Support Professional/Job Coach/Mentor Adults with Developmental Disabilities
This is not your typical Direct Support job and we are not your typical human services agency. We’re looking for a new team member to join us at Ability Specialists! We are looking for an individual to mentor and support our volunteer groups and work crews, as well as provide mentorship during evening social groups.
When you join our growing, community-based program, you will be empowering individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities to build life, social, and vocational skills.
During the day, you will be accompanying our participants in small groups of 6-7 to job and volunteer sites such as Arc Thrift, Habitat Restores, Earthlinks,A Precious Child and We don't Waste: providing guidance, support and mentorship while also giving back to the community. Also,1-2 evenings per week (until 7:45pm), you will take social groups into the community for fun activities such as bowling, swimming, mini golf, basketball, batting cages, Imax movies and more.

Requirements:
Comfortable Driving a 15-passenger van.
Have a valid Driver’s License.
Pass a National Criminal background check.
Good standing Motor Vehicle Record.
Good verbal and communication skills.
Customer service oriented.
Background (education/work) in human services field is a plus.

Benefits
$16.00 an hour to start (see below for bonuses; those are extra!)

Bonus Structure:
1st year $350 quarterly - $1500 annually
After 1st year anniversary - Max bonus - $500 quarterly/$2,000 annually
After 2nd year anniversary - Max bonus $750 quarterly/$3,000 annual
After 3rd year anniversary - Max bonus $1000 quarterly/ $4,000 annually
After 4th year anniversary and beyond $1,250 quarterly/$5,000 annually
$500 Professional Development Allowance per year (Courses, Certifications, etc.).
$500 Personal Development Allowance per year (Therapy, Seminars, Classes, etc.).
6 Paid Holidays each year
64 hours PTO in first year, 104 hours in second year.
