Job Description:The Hardware and Infrastructure (HWI) team is seeking a talented Multi-Disciplined engineer to join the Platform development team to assist with designing, implementing, and maintaining the HP Open View (HPOV) system monitoring and reporting solution. The candidate will work closely with systems engineers, system integrators, and system testers throughout the development and maintenance life cycle.Ability to obtain a Government Clearance. Duties include:Design, develop, and integrate monitoring and reporting services product in operational environmentsAnalysis of current monitoring and reporting architecture for implementation improvementsAssist with architecting the monitoring architecture for the operational environmentsDesign and document configurations for monitoring and reporting service implementation for operational environmentsWork closely with software developers for custom coding required for the monitoring and reporting service solutionContribute to the completion of program milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisorTroubleshoot and correct discrepancies found in the implemented solutionWork closely with program configuration management to ensure the correct baseline is deployed to GPS OCX operation environments.Follow established processes for design, development, and implementation on the program. Required Skills:Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.Minimum 3 years’ experience in developing, monitoring and reporting solutionsSpecific experience with HP Open View (HPOV) product suite (NNM, OVPM, OML, OMi)Hands on experience with: HPOV Policy DevelopmentHPOV Installation and ConfigurationLinux command line administrationScripting (Bash and Perl)Demonstrated experience designing system monitoring for network, storage, server, and custom application (Desired)Experience writing and briefing design documentationDemonstrated experience troubleshooting HPOV in a deployed environmentDesired Skills:Experience with automation tools such as CHEF (preferred), Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, Fabric or similar products for O/S builds, software installation and configuration managementHands-on experience with virtualization tools and cloud computing, either private (VMware, OpenStack) or public (AWS) Systems integration experienceExperience with Windows or Linux System AdministrationStrong scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.) Required Education: A degree in Science, Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) with emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology and 6 years of relatable experience or 14 years of experience without a degree.Please note the following: This is a W2 position.
