Position SummaryAs an Engineering and Physical Science professional, you will use your skills to create the systems and tools that will be used to enhance the operation of intelligence. You will advise, administer and perform scientific projects, such as planning, designing, and constructing specialized equipment, and ensuring adherence to sound engineering and scientific standards and principles. The NSA offers multiple areas of focus for facilities engineers, including computer, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural. In addition, we are seeking skills that include computer design, microelectronics, radio frequency design, and systems engineering. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense. The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information.

NSA-Colorado (NSAC) is seeking a customer-oriented, self-starter Site Engineer to support NSAC's missions through a myriad of opportunities involving support to real-world operations and state-of-the-art technology research leading to enterprise transformation.

A Site Engineer at NSAC is responsible for applying engineering disciplines to solve difficult mission and technical problems, evaluate proposed technical solutions, and monitor solutions through completion. In addition, a Site Engineer at NSAC provides requirements development, project management and system engineering services supporting the NSAC mission. These efforts identify and satisfy intelligence needs, improve operating efficiency and tradecraft, as well as implement and influence mission system architectures.

As a Site Engineer at the NSA responsibilities may include:

- Develop and apply system engineering principles that will be adopted into software and product development lifecycles using predictive and Agile best practices - Perform traditional project management functions overseeing site architectures, standards, and capabilities requirements- Participate in system designs, system/component performance and interface requirements and influence installation, integration and acceptance test activities- Develop an understanding of Agile principles (iterative and incremental collaboration) for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing multiple projects and resources.- Organize and facilitate Agile activities to be more effective and efficient during release planning, daily stand-ups, project reviews, retrospectives - Track and communicate metrics and progress to all relevant teams and management but work independently, without the need for day-to-day guidance.- Promote best practices, principles and methods used to identify, specify, and decompose systems requirements into design requirements- Identify and mitigate obstacles that may interfere with the ability of the teams to deliver assigned goals- Provide direction to project activities to ensure successful implementation and support- Promote continuous improvement and help teams increase velocity- Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation through strategic thinking and tactical execution- Ability to communicate, influence and partner effectively using strong verbal and written communication
