JOB SUMMARYFunctions as a technical manager within an iterative development environment by leading one or more DevOps teams in supporting a microservices-based data platform that enable superior customer self-service experiences. Supports technical architects and engineers on execution and delivery of objectives acting as a product manager while also supporting recruitment and career development, as applicable. Works across the organization to improve the platform and its observability to align with Charter's broader corporate strategy and ultimately drive a superior customer experience. Directly supervises the teams responsible for creating an information advantage for the organization with a focus on scalability, time to market, delivery, operations, and customer experience.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Responsible for managing/coaching team of DevOps engineers in delivery of various Platform Initiatives including automation pipelines

Collaborates with Delivery director & Technical Architects within & outside team to setup roadmap for various initiatives/objectives

Ensures team has required information/resources to deliver on objectives

Work with team on estimating the work, splitting & refining the objectives in smaller goals/stories

Work with Delivery Director and other stake holders to establish priority and expectations

Encourage team collaboration and proactively seek opportunities for overall improvements in process

Collaborates to drive decisions and team behavior, balancing planned and unplanned assignments for the team and creating an environment where teams have the data needed to make the best decision

Assists team with making appropriate commitments through story selection, sizing, and tasking

Facilitates frequent retrospectives, sharing metrics to identify and implement improvements

Tracks and manages the team delivery against quarterly/yearly goals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSRequired Skills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishFamiliarity with modern software development methodologiesDemonstrated understanding of public cloud infrastructure services capabilities such as AWSDemonstrated understanding of modern microservices architectures employed at web scaleAbility to operate customer facing production services at web scale, 24/7/365Demonstrated understanding of DevOps principles and practicesEffective communication skills: Listening, verbal and writtenAbility to analyze and resolve issues, both logical and interpersonalDemonstrated effective communications skills including presentation skillsAbility to plan, prioritize and organize effectivelyFamiliarity with technologies like git, terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes a plus

Required EducationBA or BS College Degree or related work experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of YearsTelecommunications, Product and/or equivalent experience - 5+Software engineering team management - 2+Distributed computing software development - 2+Experience developing distributed software operating in JVM and on LinuxExperience leading people and projects to a successful, high impact outcome

The pay for this position has a salary range of $96,100.00 to $170,500.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
