ÂThe large equipment fleet includes trenchers, chippers, mini-excavators, skid steers, aerial work platform equipment, and tractor loader backhoes among others. ÂWe have a large team of highly trained technicians, shop techs, and VIP Delivery Technicians and customer care associates throughout the United States and Canada.Position:The AreaÂRental Mechanic (ARM) is responsible for performing a full range of repairs on a fleet of rental equipment (skid steers, chippers, trenchers, mini-excavators, etc.) in a group of The Home Depot store locations, company job locations, and job sites. You will travel throughout your area of responsibility to follow daily priorities set by the Regional Rental Manager.ÂResponsibilities:Maintain a fleet of rental equipmentUtilize company technology platform to document all work performed on equipment, including labor and partsDiagnose, maintain and repair all components of the machine, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, fuel systems, and brake systemsObtain parts needed for repairs, while maintaining accurate parts inventoryProvides expert knowledge to all THD Rental associates in the proper operation of the equipment and standard operating proceduresSupports rental centers by explaining the large equipment program and addressing any store-specific issuesRequirements:Ability to diagnose and complete advanced mechanical repairs, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systemsStrong light construction equipment maintenance knowledgeRead mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and illustrated parts listsExperience, ability and desire to provide superior customer serviceExcellent communication skillsAbility to work independentlyWorking knowledge of handheld technology (smartphones / tablets / laptops)Valid drivers license (ability to drive in a CMV capacity)High School Diploma or equivalentWe offer a full array of benefits that include health, well-being, and financial.
