Monte Vista School District is accepting applications for an anticipated opening for a Middle School Art Teacher for the 2019-20 school year. This position is for a Middle School Art instructor whose responsibilities will be to teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade art aligned to Colorado state standards. The ability to teach using a multitude of mediums is required.
Desired qualifications and experience include:
Current Colorado Teaching License (either elementary or secondary certifications are acceptable)
Knowledge of best practices in Research Based Art instruction.
Experience teaching students of varying abilities
Willingness to teach using a wide range of mediums at corresponding levels of expertise.
Ability to work well with others
Self-motivated
Organized, yet flexible
Well developed classroom management skills
Ability and proven success in forming positive relationships with at risk youth is paramount.
