Monte Vista School District is accepting applications for an anticipated opening for a 6th Grade Language Arts (ELA) Teacher with the emphasis upon writing for the 2019-2020 school year. This position will focus upon writing instruction while working in close collaborative relationship with the 6th the grade reading teacher as well as the 7th/8th grade ELA team.
Desired qualifications and experience include:
Current Colorado Teaching License (either elementary or secondary certifications are acceptable)
Knowledge of best practices in Research Based writing and reading instruction, with the emphasis in writing.
Experience teaching students of varying abilities
Collaborative approach to lesson design and problem solving
Ability to work well with others
Self-motivated
Organized, yet flexible
Ability and proven success in forming positive relationships with at risk youth is paramount.
