Position:

You will act as the primary technician over the lab and will be responsible for the initiation and implementation of safety, quality systems, and proper lab practices and manage all lab operations.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be organized, self-motivated, and data-driven. You should be able to research and present options regarding practices, equipment, etc. by supporting them with facts in a concise and well-supported manner.

In your role within the company, you will have the opportunity to provide input and make strategic decisions that help shape the direction, capability, and longevity of the company.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily activities to ensure turnaround times are met, coordinated, and communicated among laboratory personnel.

Implement and oversee lab safety protocols including handling of hazardous materials and enforcing PPE and lab safety rules.

Maintain standard operating procedures for the extraction lab as well as the post-processing lab.(GMP)

Seek ways to expand testing capabilities and capacity.

Oversee planning and set-up of lab equipment and processes as necessary.

Create and enforce lab verification checks to support quality systems.

Implement and maintain inventory management policies.

Act as a technical expert to internal and external stakeholders.

Coordinate equipment maintenance schedules.

Manage the lab team with ongoing operational needs.

Who You Are:

Preferred B.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field

1-2+ years of relevant experience working in lab management or scientific operations

Experience working with Ethanol Extraction systems, and Distillation / Purification / Isolation setups (short path, rotovap, etc.)

Excellent understanding of laboratory safety practices in dealing with chemicals and instruments

Able to troubleshoot difficult problems and propose solutions relating to lab organization or management

Exceptional organizational and communication skills with an attention for detail

Knowledge of basic computer functions, including but not limited to MS Office products
