Job Duties and Responsibilities

A key part of the success of Sling TV is the encoding and packaging of video for live, video-on-demand, and cloud DVR. We are currently looking for senior C software engineers who want to join a dynamic, interactive team working on really cool technology in the video area. You bring the C experience and we will teach you the ins and outs of a very marketable skill: video engineering.

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

Contribute to the development and maintenance of our video encoder (C/Python)
Contribute to the development and maintenance of our video packaging and delivery pipeline (C/Python)
Contribute to the development and maintenance of our DRM stack, including support for FairPlay and Widevine (Python), PlayReady (C#), and our own KeyStore (Python)

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Qualifications:

Located in American Fork Utah or Colorado, or willing to relocate

4yr degree in Computer Science or equivalent related field of study
5+ years developing software using C and C
Experience creating and delivering quality software on technical teams. git, source code management, debugging, collaborating, communicating, problem solving, project ownership, team leadership.
Experience developing and debugging on Linux systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Languages: Python/Django, Golang, Rust, Javascript / web technologies

Experience interfacing with ffmpeg or other video libraries
Experience developing or using software related to encoding or decoding of digital video and/or audio
Experience developing software related to encryption/decryption of data especially digital video and/or audio
Experience with Digital Rights Management (DRM) and related technologies

Salary Range

Compensation: $99,360.00/Year - $157,665.00/Year
