As a Structural Technician, you will be using your skills and expertise to assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming. . To be considered for this role, you will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and 5 years of relevant work experience.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming.
Responsible for aligning parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures, and measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
Responsible for modifying incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporating the changes into the structure, and monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.
Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
Occasionally exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
Frequently exposed to loud noises.
Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.
Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles. Performs aviation related duties.
Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a US Citizen
Current Active Secret Clearance
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
A higher level degree may substitute for experience OR
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Airframe and Powerplant certificate equivalent
Must have/own tools in good working order
Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
Ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch
Progressive experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable
Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks
Ability to travel
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, NASA or US Military
