We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for immediate career opportunity as a Project Engineer.

Position Description

The Construction Project Engineer's responsibilities include assisting the Project Manager with managing commercial building construction projects. Responsibilities include assisting with bidding and attending job walks; analyzing and competitively acquiring subcontractor services and material purchases; updating and enforcing project schedules; coordinating project meetings; keeping project records and documents; managing change orders, acquiring building permits, processing submittals and other necessary project documents; compiling documentation for operation and maintenance manuals, and physically inspecting projects to monitor progress and compliance with project standards.

Responsibilities

- Work on and visit project work sites, clarify scope of work, and prepare cost estimates and proposals

- Assist with the evaluation of projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings

- Establish, monitor, communicate and maintain project schedules utilizing Microsoft Project

- Manage the submittal review process

- Assist the PM to develop and implement strategies to self-perform and to outsource the various aspects of a project to achieve the projects objectives of price, schedule and quality

- Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders to help the PM assure that all project goals are being addressed

- Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate their solutions

- Conduct and document project progress meetings

- Assist the PM to manage project costs to assure that budgets are maintained. Document and manage changes in the work to secure the interests of the entire project team

- Manage the project closeout process to assure timely completion

Minimum Qualifications

- 4 year degree in construction management or five years of direct experience

- Experience estimating and managing self-performed work activities and subcontracted work
