Summary:Assign CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS and modifier codes when appropriate, to outpatient records for reimbursement. Demonstrate knowledge of applicable laws, federal rules and regulations and AMA coding and billing guidelines. Provide secondary billing.This will be for coding and billing gastroenterology procedures.Position Details:Location: Harmony Surgery CenterFTE

DaysFTE: 0.864 hrs/pp (biweekly), Monday - FridayResponsibilities:Assume responsibility for compilation of clinical data related to outpatient encounters including DX codes, CPT codes, HCPC codes and modifiers for patient services.Review claims for accuracy before submission to data entry.Submit clean hard copy UB92's/HCFA 1500's and itemized bills or transfer electronically to third-party payors promptly.Provide secondary billing.Within

scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the

ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a

fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.Requirements:

Minimum Required Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent learning experience preferred.

Required Licensure/Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC or CPC-H) required.

Preferred

Coding course approved by AHIMA or AAPC preferred.

Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
