10/21/2019Description of Work UnitThe Energy Institute is operated under the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) at Colorado State University. The Institute builds on the long history of work in energy at CSU and is intended to foster greater collaboration among energy faculty across all eight colleges with broad access to facilities for faculty and industry partners. The Institute conducts research, education, commercialization and outreach activities for the entire CSU campus. Also, the Institute operates the Powerhouse Energy Campus, located north of the CSU main campus and provides safe, secure, and sophisticated facilities for university investigators and industry partners to collaboratively develop clean energy solutions. This position resides at the Powerhouse Energy Campus, which is an industrial working environment.Position SummaryThe Energy Institute has several new grants that require program/project management beyond what the Principal Investigator can manage alone. This position provides comprehensive project management to multiple projects located both in the US and abroad (Chile, Rwanda, Uganda). Additionally, the PI serves as the department head and receives many requests for his time and attention. As such, this position will assume day to day responsibilities for projects and tasks as well as creating and maintaining effective relationships to enable leadership success. This position will direct administrative functions such as scheduling and coordination of key meetings as well as complex travel logistics to ensure the PI’s time is strategically allocated and objectives are achieved.Required Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree

7-years of experience in project/program management role, with strong record of responsible financial management in a research department at an institution of higher education, a non-governmental organization or other research focused organization.

Experience managing projects or initiatives and developing long-term partnerships to support organizational success.

Experience preparing proposals for wide variety of research sponsors ranging from international to federal agencies to non-profit foundations.

Demonstrated excellent communication ability, both written and verbal presentation skills.

Highly motivated individual with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple complex projects in an organized, efficient manner.

Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills to successfully engage with diverse stakeholders and build effective partnerships.

Demonstrated knowledge of international travel and associated cultural norms.

Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.Preferred Job Qualifications Experience with Kuali Financial Systems including the Kuali Research Module.

Experience working closely and independently with administrators of institutions and/or leaders of research programs, organizations or initiatives on a local, national or international scale

Experience with establishing and adhering to policies and procedures
