The Senior IT Developer serves as the senior SQL developer within the office writing both simple and complex SQL code to extract data for reporting and/or use in research projects that inform institutional decision-making. With limited supervision, the position applies database architecture and management principles to oversee data extracts to the IRPE Oracle database and to edit/create tables/variables as necessary. Additionally, the position serves as the senior report developer using industry standard tools to create standardized reports; includes both hard copy and online BI reporting (current tool is Tableau). This position is a 12-month full-time appointment, based in Fort Collins, with the potential for flexible work arrangements, including remote work. This position is expected to work during MDT/MST office working hours from approximately 7:45AM-4:45PM. At this time our department is not able to sponsor a work visa for this appointment.Required Job Qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computer Information Systems • 2 years of experience with ETL development using SQL and PL/SQL programming • 2 years of experience with report development utilizing analytics tools. Includes developing operational reports, dashboards and portals. • Ability to perform critical user requirements and problem analysis, and take initiative to provide solutions. • Ability to work effectively with members of a team, with willingness to serve as a resource to others. • Strong communications skills with ability to organize and present information clearly in analyses and reports.• The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness will not sponsor a visa for this positionPreferred Job Qualifications• Knowledge and experience with Banner ODS. • Experience in data warehouse design and development. • Experience with and skill in ETL performance tuning. • Experience working in a higher education setting. • Working knowledge of Linux commands and basic shell scripting
