Our AAHA accredited small animal hospital is seeking a part-time kennel technician. We are a busy 5 doctor, animal hospital located in Fort Collins with great team members, clients, and patients! The ideal candidate must have an awesome outgoing personality, exceptional communication skills, be a self motivator, able to take direction and work with minimal supervision. Shifts are usually 7am “ 12pm (AM shift) and 3pm-6pm (PM shift) Monday - Sunday. Must be open to work weekends, holidays, and summer.

Position Summary:

The Kennel Technician is responsible for managing effective and efficient daily operations of our boarding facility in accordance with Raintree's mission, philosophy, policies and procedures, and with the safety of people and animals at the forefront of all activities. The Kennel Technician oversees the following areas: animal care, customer service and helping with the upkeep of our facility.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Â

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of our facility

Responsible for ensuring sanitary kennels

Ensures that the maximum standard of care (i.e. food, water, sanitation, safety) is provided to all animals cared for at our boarding facility

Customer service responsibilities

Kennel care functions

Upkeep of our facility

Qualifications:

A minimum of one year of experience working in a pet care industry is preferred, but not required.

Knowledge of: Animal health, behavior and breeds, customer service methods

Abilities: To make decisions in the best interest of the pets regarding their care and welfare, to exercise good judgment when dealing with customers and team members, flexibility to meet the needs of the organization.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in boarding setting with the potential exposure to high noise levels, zoonotic disease, animal bites and scratches. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to inclement weather, cleaning agents and chemicals, and animal waste. Frequent walking, standing and bending is required to perform the essential functions of the job. Regular lifting of <40 pounds may be required.Â
