Job Title: Spray Technician

Compensation: Hourly Position “ Year Round

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary: Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to complete spray applications for the maintenance division. Responsible for managing and training spray crew members to ensure that jobs use only the estimated amount of labor. Work with company fleet supervisor to ensure equipment is properly serviced and available when needed.

Paperwork “ Complete on-time and accurately - Dailies (paper and electronic), delivery receipts, credit card receipts, and vehicle checks.

Quality “ Feedback (customer and supervisor) and rework required

Safety “ Number of accidents on assigned jobs.

Detailed Job Description:

1. Work with Maintenance Supervisor to establish annual schedule on HindSite for spray applications including pre and post emergent weed control, turf fertilization, deep root fertilization, and tree spraying.

2. Order and maintain chemical inventory for spray applications per Colorado Department of Agriculture regulations.

3. Maintain spray licensing requirements per Colorado Department of Agriculture requirements including continuing education and records retention requirements.

4. Plan ahead every day and week to complete scheduled work orders efficiently.

5. Walk properties weekly and identify and communicate work needed i.e. weed control, fertilizations, etc. Work with supervisor to schedule.

6. Supervise crew members to ensure work is quality, productive, and safe.

7. Work with crew members to complete jobs at less than estimated hours.

8. Approve labor hours/cost. Be sure overtime is necessary and well planned. Do not use overtime as a crutch (band-aid) for poor planning or supervision.

9. Assist in maintaining shop and nursery as directed.

10. Coordinate training for new hires. Be a leader with your head-up, show how you want the work done.

11. Reward those that do a good job.

12. Provide performance feedback to direct reports.

13. Clean motor vehicle record “ must be insurable.
