Spectrum is an agency that has been in business for over 40 years providing services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Spectrum is currently looking for a Job Coach to support our clients in their decision to pursue opportunities for work. This would be a part time position with the opportunity for growth and increasing hours.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with the client to identify the individual's interests and skills in order to facilitate a job/career of choice
Assist client in applying to places of interest.
Address employer concerns about hiring people with disabilities while maintaining the confidentiality of the job seekers
Complete community-based assessments to determine job seekers skills, interests, learning style, social skills, and support needs
Understand that employers are customers too; must understand how the service benefits business and be prepared to share this when meeting employers to discuss job opportunities
Continuous use of data collection to document effectiveness of workplace supports and identify shortcomings in supports.
Complete monitoring on a regular basis to ensure employment is successful and long-term
Maintain ongoing communication between employee and employer; being open and approachable to employers concerns, needs and desires
Identify accommodations that may be needed for employee or employer to ensure successful employment.
Advocate for employee; report any sign of mistreatment, abuse, neglect, or exploitation
Documentation each contact with employee/client.
Support employee with time-off requests, team meetings and any needed workplace support
Job Requirements:
Some experience/knowledge of DVR is a major plus!
Some background working as a caregiver for individuals with developmental disabilities or a strong desire to do so.
Experience with job coaching preferred or willingness to learn.
Positive attitude and good work ethic
Strong interpersonal skills
Must be reliable for shifts and to complete appropriate paperwork
Access to Internet
Must have reliable transportation (no bus or having others drive)
These positions are part-time and are $15/hour.
