SUMMARY OF POSITION:
A Head Clerk is responsible for store operations in the absence of the General Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides excellent customer service, including but not limited to: handling complaints,
verifying I.D.'s, for authenticity, making sure no illegal sales are made to intoxicated patrons or minors. Recommends and sells merchandise to customers. Helps carry merchandise to customer's vehicles.
2. Performs cashier duties, including operating cash register/point-of-sale (POS) system.
3. Changes, rotates and prices displays. Stocks and rotates liquor merchandise on shelves (involves carrying cases of beer, liquor and wine). Stocks coolers and set-up displays.
4. Performs general cleaning maintenance at the liquor store, including but not limited to:
setting up and dismantling displays; dusting shelves, displays, etc.; vacuuming and sweeping floors; removing snow from walkways; removing trash from store; cleaning store and cooler windows; washing shelves and bottles; and cleaning restrooms.
5. Prepares store for opening and closing, including operating the alarm system.
6. Performs other duties consistent with the tasks of the position as may be assigned by the Owner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ï· Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
o High school graduate or equivalent.
o Must be at least 21 years of age.
o Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs one flight of stairs.
o Basic knowledge of retail sales, including ability to reconcile cash and receipts,
and obtain knowledge of cash register/POS procedures
o Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide variety of
people.
o High level of integrity and demonstrated work ethic from previous jobs.
o Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills.
o Must have own transportation to work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous retail experience in a liquor operation
