Job Description
System Redesign LeadPerforms a professional service in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of SALUD patients as well as leading the design and rollout of Salud’s new care delivery model. The Physician approaches her/her tasks in a team-based care fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change. Adheres to the spirit of the SALUD mission statement while performing assigned duties.

All physicians are ultimately under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer. In a center or clinic, the physician also receives administrative supervision from the Center Operations Director.
Supervision Exercised:The physician exercises supervision over clinic staff as assigned. This would include physician supervision of non-physician practitioners, (i.e., advanced practice providers such as PAs, NPs, etc.).
Non-Physician Administrative Duties (approximately 50% of the time):- Help design and roll out Salud’s new care delivery model
- Help lead the related change management efforts related to the implementation. Elements of change management may include the following:
- Creates a sense of urgency
- Builds a guiding coalition
- Helps communicate and reinforce the strategy and vision
- Enlists a volunteer army
- Enables action by removing barriers
- Generates short-term wins
- Sustains acceleration
- Renders medical services to patients including history, examination, diagnosis, and treatment plan, and enters this information into the electronic health system
- Provides medical services appropriate to the age-specific needs of all patients and consistent with his/her credentialing and privileging
- Acts as a patient advocate for our vulnerable population by ensuring that the patient is fully informed and comfortable with their visit to SALUD
- Is responsible for maintaining clinic charts in which he or she records pertinent details of the visit
- Maintains the accepted level of medical records requirements (i.e., problem lists, medication lists, flow sheets, etc.)
- Attends and participates in other activities required by SALUD (i.e., staff training, educational sessions, meetings, etc.)
- Follows procedures for the electronic health record system
- Is responsible to participate in clinic committees as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer
Qualifications
Education:
Graduation from an approved school of allopathic or osteopathic medicine, and satisfactory completion of an accredited residency program in the United States. Must be board eligible/certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties
Experience:
Prior management experience preferred
Licensure:
Possess an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Colorado
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Working knowledge of the principles and practices of general medicine and surgery. Thorough knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of diseases and injuries. Ability to gain the confidence of patients and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with them and with other employees. Must work well with the other patient care team members.
