Job Description

SUMMARY;

Sells parts to guests, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be directly responsible for the following items, as set at the sole discretion of the company, which may be changed from time to time:

  • Assists all guests (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.

  • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.

  • Informs guests of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the guest is exposed to the full product line.

  • Provides high level of service to external guests and internal customers.

  • Pulls and fills orders form stock.

  • Notifies parts manger of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.

  • Locates out-of-stock parts form outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.

  • Notifies the service advisor and the guest when special ordered parts have been received.

  • Follow up on back-ordered parts.

  • Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required.

  • Replenishes assigned inventory daily.

  • Assists outside sales representatives. With their orders.

  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.

  • Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians.

  • Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.

  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up.

  • Solicits assigned accounts by phone.

  • Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.

  • Cleans computer terminals and printers daily.

  • Participates in all training programs that are made available.

  • Keeps current on new products and product updates.

  • Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking system.

  • Maintains a safe work environment.

  • Attends department meetings.

  • Maintains a professional appearance.

  • Realize that the company’s business is built on guest satisfaction and devote himself/herself to guaranteeing satisfaction to guests.

  • Determine management, production and quality requirements by asking questions and listening.

  • Maintain a follow-up system that encourages follow through with assigned projects.

  • Maintain current knowledge and familiarity with new products, features, accessories, etc., and their benefits.

  • Establish personal performance goals that are consistent with company standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals.

  • Report to Parts Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews and analyses.

  • Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.

  • Understand the terminology of the business and keep abreast of technology changes in the product.

  • Know and understand the federal, state and local requirements which govern the company’s business.

  • Follow directions from a supervisor.

  • Understand and follow work rules and procedures.

  • Accept constructive criticism.

  • Interact well with others and be a positive influence on associate morale.

  • Must sign voluntarily the company’s non-disclosure and confidentiality agreement and be able to be faithful to its provisions.

  • Must be willing and able to assign or offer to assign to the company any invention that you develop.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school [or college] diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Professional personal appearance. Excellent communication skills. Ability to meet company’s production and quality standards.
