POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Revenue Management functions as the strategic business leader of Revenue Management. It has overall responsibility for balancing the financial objectives of different lodging products, winter and summer activities, and mountain operations to maximize total revenues. Position is accountable for pricing, positioning and inventory of all products within the market. Develops and oversees all processes associated with demand, revenue, inventory, forecasting and opportunity analysis. Develops and recommends sales strategy for pricing. Acts as primary contact for and maintains productive relationships with all stakeholders including senior leaders in Lodging, Sales, Marketing, Core Business Owners, and the Alterra Revenue Management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Develops seasonal and annual strategic action plans for Revenue Management across all Winter Park lines of business. (20%) D
  • Works closely with the Regional Director of Revenue Management and Winter Park senior leaders to develop, implement and analyze pricing, inventory and sales strategies for resort lodging, lift and activities products for various market segments. (20%) C
  • Leads weekly revenue management meetings with resort leadership team. Analyzes lodging, lift ticket and presold pass data to identify trends, future need periods and obstacles to achieving goals and provides critical input to resort leadership team for development of overall market sales strategy by business unit. Communicates financial results to stakeholders, makes recommendations and works with business unit leaders to accomplish brand/market objectives and initiatives (10%) C
  • Leads weekly business review meetings with the sales team, evaluating group profitability, optimizing revenue and occupancy by market segment through critical evaluation of group business (5%) D
  • Use standard software applications, complex spreadsheet software, analytical tools and hotel systems including Duetto, Springer Miller, RTP, Power BI, etc. (10%) B
  • Utilize available tools and interpret sales/market and competitive data and apply to sales strategy (5%) B
  • Researches new products, tools and processes and provides recommendations to improve effectiveness of the revenue management function and apply it to all of Winter Park’s lines of business. (5%) D
  • Works closely with Lodging Dept. to develop annual operating budget and participates in monthly forecasting process with finance. (5%) C
  • Creates annual lift revenue budget and strategic pricing plan to reach resort revenue targets. (5%) C
  • Manages staffing levels to meet business needs. Oversees Revenue Analyst position. Sets goals and expectations for direct reports and holds staff accountable for successful performance. Creates appropriate developmental plans and develops team members based on individual strengths, development needs, career aspirations and abilities using bi-annual performance appraisal process. (10%) D

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES:
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Previous experience within the travel or ski industry preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of Revenue/Yield Management Concepts.
  • Previous hospitality/hotel experience highly desired.
  • Advanced Excel user (pivot, graphs, formulae, VBA).
  • Strong database analysis skills with the ability to understand how data is organized in multiple systems and how to retrieve appropriate data from source systems.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, attention to details, pro-active in reaching goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer functionality required.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License and clean motor vehicle record desirable
  • NOTE: This position must submit to and pass a criminal background check and credit check on condition of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

WAGE:

The base pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Salary: $61,659 - $92,489
