JOB SCOPEThis position is responsible for providing leadership and management to a team of system and network engineers overseeing a multitude of tools and services used within the APS Network as a Service (NaaS) team. These tools include but are not limited Science Logic, F5 BIG-IQ, A10 Harmony, Observium, WARP, Juniper Security Director, Tufin, along with other supporting system deployments and services. These tools are critical to our on-going operations and future automation needs. This position also oversees our enterprise NetScout deployment from both a management perspective and supporting on-going project initiatives for new deployments.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide leadership and direction to engineers on technologies, best practices, and career development.
- Ensure proper coordination of team resources to ensure project success and on-time.
- Oversee all technical operations to maintain accuracy, integrity, and stability of all our managed services and NetScout operations.
- Provide 'on-call' leadership support and response to our managed services and NetScout operational needs after normal business hours.
- Coordinate preparation of capital and operating budgets as needed.
- Consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum six (8) years of engineering work experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience with systems and application administration.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience leading a team of engineers in a fast-paced operations environment.
- Ability to provide elective, results-oriented direction, and make sound decisions while under pressure.
- Manage high performing teams by leading, developing, training, and providing effective coaching to attract and foster talent.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN topology, network protocols, load-balancers, switches, and firewalls.
- Extensive knowledge of networking around layer 1/3 functionality.
- Skilled at providing coaching, guidance, mentoring, and motivation whenever necessary.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and simultaneously manage several projects and initiatives effectively.
- Fundamental understanding of carrier-grade systems architecture, design, and security.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools, system tools, SNMP, polling, DNS, and NetScout a plus.
