JOB SUMMARYRESPONSIBLE FOR WIRELESS RAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT, ARCHITECTURE, SPECIFICATIONS, ENGINEERING DESIGN, INTEGRATION TESTING AND DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT. DRIVE THE WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY ROADMAP WITH STAKEHOLDERS, I.E. PRODUCT ORGANIZATION, ENGINEERING AND OPERATIONS AS WELL AS VENDORS AND MSO PARTNERS. RESPONSIBLE FOR DEFINING AND LEADING CHARTER'S WIRELESS RAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGY STRATEGIES AND DRIVING THE IMPLEMENTATION ACCORDING TO CHARTER'S SPECIFIC USE CASES, BUSINESS OBJECTIVES AND OPERATIONAL PROCESSES.

DRIVE STRATEGIC DIRECTION, GUIDELINES AND BEST PRACTICES FOR WIRELESS RAN ACCESS NETWORK DEPLOYMENT, OPTIMIZATION AND MANAGEMENT ACROSS DIFFERENT MARKETS. DEVELOP, DEPLOY AND ENSURE CONSISTENT, STRUCTURED AND DISCIPLINED PRACTICES TO ENSURE CONSISTENT AND STABLE PRODUCT DELIVERY ALIGNED WITH COMPANY INITIATIVES AND EXPECTATIONS. SUPPORT REGIONAL AND MARKET OPERATIONS TO ENSURE UNPARALLELED CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. LEAD A TEAM OF TALENTED ENGINEERS AND TECHNOLOGISTS, PROVIDE THE THOUGHT TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT, DIRECT PROJECT PLANNING AND BUDGET MANAGEMENT. ENSURE A HIGH DEGREE OF CROSS FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION WITH INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS INCLUDING PEER ENGINEERING ORGANIZATIONS, FIELD OPERATIONS AND PRODUCT ORGANIZATIONS.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRESPONSIBLE PRIMARILY FOR THE WIRELESS RADIO ACCESS NETWORK (RAN) RELATED INFRASTRUCTURE AND PRODUCTS BUT WILL REQUIRE CLOSE COLLABORATION WITH OTHER ENGINEERING ORGANIZATIONS, PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS, VENDORS, MSO PARTNERS AND STANDARDS AND POLICY ORGANIZATIONS.

LEAD AN INNOVATIVE, COLLABORATIVE WORK TEAM TO PRODUCE EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS DELIVERING OR EXCEEDING PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS AND PROVIDINGOPTIMAL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. DEVELOP AN EFFECTIVE FRONT LINE LEADERSHIP TEAM AND ASSIST THEM WITH DEVELOPING THEIR DIRECT REPORTS AS TO DRIVE A HIGH PERFORMANCE CULTURE AND ENVIRONMENT.

ASSESS NEW PRODUCTS REQUIREMENTS AND DEVELOP TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS AND ARCHITECTURE DESIGN TO SUPPORT THEM.

STUDY NEW TECHNOLOGY TRENDS, FORMULATE IMPACT STATEMENT OF SUCH TECHNOLOGIES ON CHARTER'S WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY AND SERVICES OFFERING. VALIDATE THE CAPABILITIES OF SUCH TECHNOLOGIES THROUGH LAB EVALUATION AND POSSIBLE FIELD TRIALS.

DEVELOP A LONG-TERM TECHNOLOGY EVOLUTION ROADMAP (3-5 YEARS) ARTICULATING THE STRATEGIC DECISION POINTS, TECHNOLOGY EVOLUTION PLAN AND RECOMMENDATIONS WITH REGARD TO TECHNOLOGY AND NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS.

PROVIDE ENGINEERING SUPPORT AND DIRECTION FOR NEW OR EXISTING TECHNOLOGIES AND CURRENT OPERATIONAL INITIATIVES. PERFORM LAB EVALUATION AND FIELD TRIALS TO VALIDATE NEW TECHNOLOGY CONCEPTS IN RAN, I.E. V-RAN/O-RAN.

SUPPORT CHARTER'S MOBILE STRATEGY WITH TECHNOLOGY EXPERTISE TO ASSESS THE FEASIBILITY OF NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES.

TEST & CERTIFY RAN PRODUCT AND SOFTWARE RELEASES FOR FIELD DEPLOYMENT. DEVELOP AND MANAGE YEARLY BUDGET FOR CHARTER'S WIRELESS ACCESS NETWORK TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT, TRIALS, TESTING AND CERTIFICATION.

DEVELOP TOOLS AND PROCESSES FOR SITE SURVEY, RF DESIGN, DEPLOYMENT AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FOR CHARTER'S MOBILE ACCESS NETWORK.

DEVELOP TOOLS AND PRODUCE RELEVANT TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION FOR OPERATIONS TO DEPLOY AND MANAGE RAN NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE. IDENTIFY, ANALYZE, EVALUATE AND SUPPORT THE IMPLEMENTION OF STANDARDIZED PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES FOR WIRELESS RAN ACCESS DEPLOYMENT AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT. ENSURE PROCESSES MEET OR EXCEED TECHNICAL, BUSINESS & OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND IDENTIFY AREAS OF IMPROVMENTS TO PROMOTE PRODUCTIVITY AND EFFICIENCY

CONTRIBUTE TO INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CREATION, PATENT FILING AND PROMOTION OF SUCH IP THROUGH THE CONTRIBUTION TO RELEVANT STANDARDS AND INDUSTRY FORUMS.

SUPPORT CHARTER'S REGULATORY AFFAIRES WITH WIRELESS ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE RECENT FCC SPECTRUM AUCTIONS ACTIVITIES.

REPRESENT CHARTER IN MEETINGS WITH THE FCC AND PROVIDE TECHNICAL EXPERTISE TO GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS TEAM IN RESPONDING TO THE FCC NPRM (NOTICE OF PUBLIC RULE MAKING) REGARDING WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY POLICY.

SUPPORT VENDOR CONTRACTOR NEGOTIATIONS, LEAD RFIS AND RFPS FOR RAN VENDORS EVALUATION AND SELECTION.

ENSURE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND ALIGNMENT.

MAINTAIN CONTINUOUS PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS AND EFFICIENCIES.

CONTRIBUTE AND REPRESENT CHARTER IN RELEVANT INDUSTRY AND STANDARDS FORUMS.

PERFORM OTHER DUTIES INLINE WITH THE OVERALL SCOPE OF THE JOB FUNCTION AS REQUESTED BY MANAGEMENT

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGEDEEP KNOWLEDGE IN WIRELESS ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES INCLUDING 5G & 4G-LTE, V-RAN/O-RAN AND A CLEAR TRACK RECORD OF EXCELLENCE MANAGING THE WIRELESS ACCESS ENGINEERING SYSTEMS WITHIN AN ORGANIZATION OF A WELL-KNOWN BRAND AND SCALE.

ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF WIRELESS 5G STANDARDS, ARCHITECTURES AND VIRTULIZATION SOLUTIONS

KNOWLEDGE OF WI-FI TECHNOLOGY AS WELL AS KEY NETWORKING ELEMENTS SUCH AS ROUTING, SWITCHING, AND SECURITY WILL BE A PLUS.

STRONG LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES WITH PROVEN ABILITY TO EFFECTIVELY LEAD A TEAM OF ENGINEERS AT JUNIOR AND SENIOR LEVELS.
