Job Req #: 21-02978Job Description: Systems AnalystLocation: Denver, CO; Santa Rosa, CA; Wichita, KS; OR REMOTEPosition Type: 12+ Month ContractOur Financial Client is looking for a Systems Analyst to join their team! Critical needs and responsibilities of the role:
- Needs to be a very technical person that can communicate well with developers as well as work with the Business Analyst in an agile environment to successfully work through and document knowledge acquisitions, user stories, and tasks among other things, as well as manage issues as they arise. It will be imperative that processes both upstream and downstream of the business delivery team are well documented.
- Have several years of prior systems analysis experience in an agile/scrum environment
- Understand databases and how they work including MSSQL querying through SSMS and how data flows through APIs
- Be able to be a quick study, working independently but as part of a cohesive team and Community of Practice.
- Lead system requirements definition and documentation and work directly with business partners and technical staff to develop use cases and technical and testing specification documents
- Perform design and build activities on large projects related to enterprise applications
- Analyze business requirements and translate into system requirements
- Provide technical support related to system integration and data migration activities
- Perform ongoing system administration duties for assigned configurable enterprise systems to document, update and maintain currency. Gather and analyze information from multiple sources and provide recommendations to address and resolve business issues
- Coordinates work with various IT resources and 3rd party vendors and applications in conjunction with software upgrades, patches and configuration deployment
- Work with business to organize and coordinate Governance Committees and activities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- BA/BS degree, with emphasis on Computer Science, Information Systems; or equivalent experience
- At least five years of related experience with demonstrated proficiency in gathering functional and non-functional specifications, preparing design documentation, configuring applications and system support
- Intermediate knowledge of typical programming languages is desirable
- Intermediate knowledge of System Analysis roles, responsibilities and activities and System Development Life Cycle methodologies
- Intermediate knowledge of and demonstrated skills in use of word processing and data analysis software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and/or Access is required; Thorough knowledge of presentation software such as MS PowerPoint and Visio required
- Strong knowledge of database concepts and proficiency with MS SQL and Oracle databases
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills including verbal, written skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of project management processes.
- Intermediate knowledge industry best practices in the areas of data integrity controls, testing and release management.
