The Data Center Support Administrator is expected to maintain and ensure uptime of day-to-day physical data center operations by ensuring physical data center space, data servers, network, Data Center security, and physical infrastructure is properly managed through proven best practices in data center management and problem management response/resolution. Primary responsibilities include installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining various physical system hardware components, servers, network connectivity/gear, access controls, and various physical infrastructure that resides within data center floorspace.

Responsibilities: Provide on-site support in monitoring and performing on-going maintenance of servers, appliances, tape libraries swaps, and network equipment. Provide on-site, hands-on break-fix support for various support teams and staff, as well as responding to any server or network issues, which could include after-hours support (non-business hours) Maintain physical access control of accessibility to data center space by escorting and providing support and guidance for on-site vendor repairs and professional services. Perform hardware diagnostics and replacing any failed components in a timely manner. Perform physical upgrades and hardware replacements which could require lifting of physical components up to 25lbs. Properly document datacenter infrastructure layout, connectivity, and processes to ensure all resources are properly inventoried, maintained, accessible and decommissioned when applicable. Maintain physical and software security posture for various components owned by Data Center team which could include performing firmware/software upgrades, ensure data center infrastructure (server, network, accessibility) is properly secured, and responding to any security incidents or audits in a timely manner. Coordinate with data center facilities in communications regarding electrical, telecommunications providers, cooling and backups, scheduling of installations, work orders, incidents tickets, etc. Execute and plan small data center projects to include but not limited to, hardware refresh, server migrations, cable management, patch panel configuration, rack configurations and redundant power setup, etc.

Required Technical Skills: In-depth background in data center operations with extensive experience as a Data Center Administrator, or similar. Experience with installing, monitoring, and maintaining network, server, storage, and backup hardware at the physical layer. Ability to lift (up to 25lbs), rack, and manage server and network gear. Ability to run and tag network cabling. Familiarity with terminal services, console access, out of band access to physical devices (e.g., iLO/LOM management, DRACs, KVM switches and crash carts). Basic understanding of data center electrical and environmental infrastructure (e.g., amperage, voltage, watts, current, active power, temperature, humidity, air flow, raised floors cable management and rack dimensions as it pertains to data center layout and cage design). Willingness to respond to critical network and server errors that could occur after hours.

Preferred Skills:Bachelors degree 7+ years of data center experience
