Job Description

Solutions Management professionals work with clients (external and internal) and use their knowledge of the product, industry and technology to design holistic solutions to meet business and technical needs across individual customers, customer segments, and regions. They include product technical experts during the sales process that provide pre-sales technical advice and technical demos to customers about Visa products. They work hands-on with customers to demonstrate product integrations. They support clients to optimize their use and performance of Visa DPS Forward’s products.

The Senior Director of Product, Solutions Management will lead a team of Solutions Product Managers working on our API-based Issuer Processing platform, DPS Forward. She/he/they will be responsible for engaging with internal and external partners to understand key business problems, use knowledge of the platform to innovate or help define how their needs can be addressed with new extensible capabilities, and work directly with the product development and commercialization teams to prioritize.

The Senior Director will be a coach/player who both engages with clients daily while developing a team and acts as a key member of the executive team. The Senior Director will have an understanding the competitive and market landscape, Visa and DPS solutions, and use that knowledge in engagements. She/he/they are expected to have a key role in setting the strategy and influencing the roadmap.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and develop a team of Solutions Managers, providing direction, guidance and supporting personal development
  • Lead the technical aspects of our issuing processing solutions throughout the client process, focusing on customer satisfaction and Visa growth
  • Represent Visa DPS Forward in our customer’s product ideation stage, supporting clients to make the most from Visa DPS in the cardholder propositions
  • Be an expert on Visa DPS & associated value-added services. Provide profound technical advice and establish relationships with customers to be recognized as their trusted advisor
  • Partner with Sales Engineering on projects and initiatives (demos, prototypes etc.), understanding customer needs and business problems they are working to solve. Key is to identify patterns in needs that require product ideation and development
  • Use comprehensive knowledge of a solution or service sufficient to be involved in shaping their future development in line with the customer segments
  • Identify opportunities for Visa Product to create market-leading solutions that satisfy customers and grow the business
  • Partner with other Visa product groups and innovation teams to identify opportunities for collaboration and develop Forward as an internal capability
  • Lead market, customer, and competitive research to understand market and customer needs & trends.
  • Identify innovation within the payment sector and collaborate with local and global product management for potential enablement
  • Continuously build knowledge of technical architecture, tools, systems, and languages used across various business partners to ensure clarity amongst all parties

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications 15-18 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD or PhD) A business leader with a passion for the future of payments who demonstrates strong knowledge of issuing processing solutions, client integration/interactions and comfortable to operate outside of direct remit to achieve best outcomes for Visa and Clients. A proactive and driven individual with the capacity to adapt to solve problems, address challenges and enable progression Technical acumen and an ability to engage with developers and product to develop solutions. Ability to present to clients and dive into business problems. Demonstrated ability to build, manage and grow teams to be high performing Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work creatively, strong problem solving skills, and a clear ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders. Excellent Project Management skills with key understanding of Agile frameworks. Profound understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle and of modern technologies (e.g. APIs, cloud solutions etc.). Curious and inquisitive problem solver - leads in difficult and large problem areas by acting proactively

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
