As part of the DISH Wireless 5G Core Operations Team, the Core Delivery Architect will join the team of passionate engineers with start-up spirit to build, test and deploy DISH'S standalone 5G network. The candidate should bring innovation, knowledge and strong execution skills to the group, as well as the ability to both teach and work in a team environment.The successful candidate will establish and maintain close relationships with internal peers (Architects, Core Engineers, Development Engineers, Product Engineers, Security Device Managers, and PMs), as well as the Leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deploying and operating IMS voice services in a mobile core and passion for influencing development for a disruptive product and solution.Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:- Act as the senior technical leader for the team by deploying IMS functions of our 5G platform and ecosystem that is both secure and reliable
- Be a subject matter expert in new trends on the market, including virtualization and cloud native architectures as they relate to the Wireless industry.
- Deployment and management of virtualized resources at scale, including virtual machines, containers, and 'Serverless' Systems
- Analyze and onboard 5G use cases as part of Proof of Concept demonstrations to inform Architecture decisions
- Act as a leader/mentor in day-to-day operations to provide insights for less experienced colleagues, while continuing to be hands-on
- Present solutions and be the point person between the team and executive leadership
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and cooperate in teams, projects and networks to achieve results
- Work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
- Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing while staying abreast of new technology/technical areas
- Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering preferred, and 10+ years of wireless industry experience, with a heavy focus on voice, VoWiFi and VoLTE/VoNR IMS core network structure
- Experience in developing container based voice solutions utilizing microservices principles and a deep understanding of 5G standards and cloud native architecture.
- Strong hands-on technical skills in the any of the following:
- VoIP, WiFi Calling, UT interface, SMS, e911 and other IMS features over various air interfaces including LTE and 5G NR
- Policy / Charging and QoS enforcement in packet data networks
- Offline / Online Charging architectures (such as PCRF Gx and Gy, interfaces)
- SIP, Diameter, and SBA interfaces
- Mobility, ISIM, P-I/S-CSCF, SBC, HSS/HLR, and UDR/UDM concepts
- Proven record of accomplishment in working with large mobile network integrators, either on the operator or vendor side.
- Proven ability to work in a vendor-facing role
- Demonstrated ability to work across disparate groups including sales, operations, product management, and engineering
- Detailed understanding of 3GPP specifications, worldwide spectrum and telecommunications regulations, and wireless technology landscape including GSM/EDGE, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, 5G
- Experience in delivering a large system to a tight timeline. \\
