DISH is looking for a Technologist with broad experience in the fields of data networking, virtualization, and data security technologies. The Technologist shall have in-depth knowledge and background in software defined networking, network function virtualization, and Linux server engineering and administration. The Technologist will work on solutions to enable 5G network functions as an application on multi hybrid cloud environments.Requirements- Hands-on experience with the installation, configuration, and/or operation of network equipment such as Cisco, Juniper or other network hardware manufacturers - including their SDN technologies
- Proven experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM), as well as deployment and operation of OpenStack, OpenShift
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, StackStorm, CodeDeploy etc.
- Experienced with Open-source Software projects such as ONAP, ONF, ODL, OVS
- In-depth working knowledge of large IP/MPLS backbone network routing technologies, such as BGP, OSPF and relationship to OpenFlow
- Knowledge of network routing and switching systems (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Ciena, MRV, Nokia)
- Familiarity with cloud networking architecture (AWS/GCP VPC), containers and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes, swarm) and tools like Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible
- Familiarity with DPDK, NUMA, SRIOV, PCI-Passthrough, Virtio
- Good understanding of NFV with a focus on MANO/ONAP
- Experience with configuration management/service orchestration using Juniper Contrail/Northstar, Ciena Blue Planet, Nokia NSP, and/or Cisco NSO
- Excellent technical background with a strong understanding of networking (specifically IP technologies)
- + 10+ years in IP (IPv4 and IPv6) networking, Network Security, Network Operation, Managed Network Service Delivery, Cloud Virtualization, and Cloud Computing field. 3+ years in SDN and NFV field
- Familiarity with 3GPP 5G specifications and 5G related open source initiatives, such as O-RAN, LF-Edge
- Work with DISH OEMs on product features, network transformation, mobile edge computing, and data analytics
- Lead discussions and contribute to the development of next generation cloud virtualization technologies to manage 5G workloads
- Develop and maintain SDN/NFV strategy
- Participate in the architecture, design and development of services and tools
- Work with internal cross functional teams to standardize solution and implementation options
- Conduct proof-of-concept testing and evaluation of new platform solutions
- Analyze and onboard 5G use cases as part of proof-of-concept demonstrations
- Participate in network architecture documentation, information sharing, and technical exchange and training of the wider DISH team
