You will also be working with hot new services and improvements to customer personalization, recommendations, privacy, security, and messaging at IMDb.A day in the lifeYou love challenging problems, collaborating with stakeholder teams, defining roadmaps, design creative technical solutions, delivering features our customers love, and mentoring more junior engineers.We have high technical standards and support you to lead the team to reach for new engineering excellence leveraging internal Amazon technologies as well as AWS services like EC2 and Lambda as well as other technologies such as GraphQL. You will set the standard for engineering, testing, and operational excellence, drive best practices across organization.About the teamThe User Data Team models the customer on IMDb. We own services that enable registrations and account management.We own services that allow customers to share their passion through rating, reviewing, and creating polls and lists.We also own services that personalize customer experiences allowing them to find more interesting and engaging content (thing machine learning). BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 4+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 2+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Math or Physics or related engineering field
- Experience with UNIX/Linux environment
- Good understanding of distributed systems
- Ability to collaborate with multiple external dependent teams to design complex solutions
- Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Mentoring and guiding junior team members through Design Review and Code Review
- Experience with GraphQL and AWS technologies such as CloudFront, ALB, WAF, Lambda, Elastic Search and CDK
- Design and development of high-volume multi-tiered distributed software applications
