As a Software Development Manager, your will lead a team of developers in designing, building, and operating production software. The team will look to you to provide guidance on architectural and design decisions, technology selection, as well as delivering ways to continuously improve operational excellence, performance, scalability and cost optimization. You will help develop the team as they progress and advance in their careers. You will also have the opportunity to work across teams to share best practices with other managers and senior engineers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
  • Experience partnering with product OR program management teams
  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
  • 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Amazon Web Services• A deep understanding of software development in a team and a proven track record of shipping software on time• Demonstrated creativity and judgment in developing exceptional experiences to customers• Mastery of the tools of the trade, including familiarity with modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C, Objective C) and open-source technologies (Linux, MySQL, Apache)• Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between• Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment• Entrepreneurial spirit combined with strong program and product management skills• A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences• A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $184,900- $250,200(yr.); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base pay information is based on market location.
