Your Opportunity
The Operations Strategy team resides in the Operational Services Group at Charles Schwab and is responsible for completing a wide range of strategic activities that drive transformation. The team is also responsible for leading various strategic initiatives in support of the TD Ameritrade integration. Examples of the group's activities include:- Develop frameworks for various initiatives that drive operational efficiency (scale and automation initiatives, expense management exercises, processes optimization, integration planning, etc.)
- Provide thought partnership to our Operations businesses leaders on a range of topics
- Create executive level read outs to facilitate decision making and support ongoing business needs (townhalls, business updates, etc.)
- Create program-level deliverables for the Schwab/TDA Operations Integration track (e.g., synergy planning, location strategy)
- Synthesizing information to develop compelling fact-base hypothesis
- Working with large data sets and drawing insights
- Facilitating group discussions and motivating people without direct channels of authority
- Managing multiple and potentially conflicting priorities
- Dealing with and managing through ambiguity and uncertainty
- Leading projects from beginning to end with little guidance
- Analyze information and data to formulate insights using Excel
- Create fact-based strategic presentations to help facilitate decision making and integration planning at the executive level using PowerPoint presentations
- Create and manage various project checklists to ensure a well-sequenced and controlled execution of critical tasks
- Orchestrate activities across Operations, internal Schwab partners and external parties
- Facilitate meetings, lead discussions as needed, and communicate with partners at various level of seniority
- 8+ years of work experience, including 2-3 years of experience in business analysis or strategy, preferably with a consulting firm or strategy group in a large organization
- Bachelor's degree; MBA a plus
- Strong analytical skills, creativity in problem solving, and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability in developing materials and effectively communicating information
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and can build financial models in Excel
- Ability to handle ambiguity in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
- Personally and professionally aligned with Schwab's vision and values, and a strong interest in financial services and industry leading practices and innovation
- Familiarity of broker-dealers or wealth managers is a plus
