SAM Technology is aligned to support the technology needs of Schwab Asset Management (SAM), the Schwab organization that unites money management, research, and asset management platforms for mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), managed accounts, alternative investments and insurance. With over $500B in assets under management, SAMS is the 3rd largest provider of index funds and the 7th largest provider of money market funds and 5th largest ETF provider.

As a leader in the SAM Technology organization, you will play a critical role in developing, inspiring and leading the day to day and strategic direction of the Sales Technology team that support the SAM Sales and Service organization that focuses on sales of the SAM proprietary ETFs, index funds and managed accounts to Schwab's Investor Services network, Registered Investment Advisors, Retirement and Institutional channels.

This Technical manager will lead a Salesforce development team by overseeing the planning, design, implementation, testing, and release of all development associated to the SAM Salesforce instance and meet project deadlines by adhering to established Salesforce development best practices while minimizing technical debt. This position is responsible for:
  • Lead the planning, design, implementation, testing, and release of Salesforce configuration and customization components within the Sales and Service Clouds.
  • Operate as the Subject Matter Expert of the existing Salesforce instance and related integrations and technologies.
  • Mentor and develop Salesforce resources.
  • Hold the Salesforce development team accountable for delivery of quality code and timely completion of development tasks.
  • Work with the team to design and implement scalable solutions that leverage Salesforce best practices.
  • Work with external vendors, internal Salesforce development teams, business stakeholders, and IT management to design and develop strong relationships with user groups to support user adoption, ensure proper use of Salesforce and productive growth and change around the application and corresponding business processes.
  • Document and maintain application and software functionality.
  • Engage with release managers to plan and schedule Salesforce releases.
  • Review and debug existing application and resolve support requests for existing Salesforce instance.

What you have

This role requires a highly motivated, organized and experienced business focused technology leader with a proven record of software delivery within an investment management firm and extensive Salesforce development and integration experience.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience with leading a team of Salesforce developers and administrators in both declarative and complex custom development modules leveraging Apex and Lightning Components.
  • Ability to engage with Tech Lead and/or lead code reviews to ensure best practice development processes.
  • Development experience within the Lightning platform.
  • Experience managing full software development life cycle by leveraging declarative development as well as custom development such as Apex controllers, Asynchronous Apex, Triggers, Visualforce pages, Lightning components, and Javascript libraries.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with application design principles, and patterns in order to provide short-term and long-term solutions.
  • Experience with development of web-based applications.
  • Solid understanding of OOP concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to stakeholders in the organization, in particular within Marketing, Sales and Operation groups.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience and understanding of the Wealth and Asset Management industry and how ETF, Mutual Fund and Managed Accounts are distributed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4-year college degree in Computer Science, or other relevant field, or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Active Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Advanced Administrator, App Builder, or Platform Developer)
  • 5+ years of Salesforce Architect or relevant experience preferred
  • 7+ years of managing Salesforce development projects
  • 2+ years of managing internal and external resources
  • Knowledge of core Salesforce technologies that enable sales processes (CPQ, Marketing Automation, Data hygiene tools, and sales enablement)
  • 2+ years working in Financial Services Industry

Colorado Compensation

Target Total Compensation: 121,000 - 242,000
