Schwab is looking for a Senior Manager to join our Stock Plan Services team. This leader will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day leading multiple scrum teams along with recruiting, performance management, career growth and supporting our development, technology and business partners' needs. In addition to this, the leader will be responsible for setting up development best practices, processes and tools to ensure stock plan services initiatives are completed with a sense of urgency. Our ideal candidate is a servant leader who can lead multiple parallel initiatives - big and small - with attention to detail, manage business partner expectation and is passionate about technology and delivering value to clients. Lastly, they will also be required to manage resources across disparate locations.

What you are good at

  • Leveraging your technical background to assist development teams to mature and deliver on commitments
  • Partnering with Product to develop realistic roadmaps for development teams, balancing the needs of the project work with other competing priorities
  • Coaching individuals to operate at their optimal levels and help with conflict resolution
  • Be a decision influencer when working with the business in creating efficient, scalable workflow management systems
  • Reviewing, establishing and enforcing standards for teams to follow
  • Able to effectively deliver on parallel initiatives
  • Facilitate technical and business communication, provide context and establish priority for systems changes
  • Orchestrate cross functional dependencies, risks, and ensure successful delivery of multi-year programs
  • Being an advocate for your teams; identifying and implementing improvements as well as bubbling up team successes and concerns to leadership
  • Act as a platform owner and enable teams to deliver on a vision that builds capabilities aligned with business strategy

What you have

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience as a people leader
  • A minimum of 3 years managing large, complex and cross functional projects. Emphasis on systems, technologies, business process redesign, and knowledge of technical environments
  • A minimum of 5 years prior software engineering experience on the delivery or architecture side
  • Ability to quickly analyze and comprehend complex, cross platform business needs and foster a solutions-based team environment
  • Ability to speak on engineering topics between technical, product, and business counterparts
  • Ability to see and communicate the big picture to help provide context for leadership
  • Ability to quickly learn complex new systems and identify areas of risk and dependencies
  • A Self-starter who is highly functional in a multi-location environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decisions and resolve conflicts
  • Strong working experience in Scrum methodologies with detailed insight into Agile processes and ceremonies
  • Prior working knowledge of JIRA or any related Scrum tools
  • Prior work with SaaS models
  • Financial and/or trading background is preferred
