Schwab Asset Management Solutions (SAMS) Technology is part of the Schwab Technology Services (STS) organization which is responsible for the company's use of information technology including all telecommunications, operations, and client and business applications.

SAMS Technology is aligned to support the technology needs of Schwab Asset Management Solutions (SAMS) which all of Schwab's money management, research and asset management platforms to help clients manage their wealth.

What you are good at

  • You will provide technical expertise to the SAMS Tech Distributions & Ops team and is responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of the Distribution & Operations data platforms.
  • You will champion the adoption of established coding practices and standards established by architects, be responsible for working with the on-shore and off-shore team during all phases of the software development lifecycle (design, coding, testing, deployment, etc.), and setup implementation patterns to be adhered to by team members.
  • You will be a key player in the implementation and integration of modern applications that support business capabilities and build highly scalable data pipelines that enable future business growth. In addition to be a strong technical contributor, part of the role will involve mentoring developers and collaborating across multiple teams and internal organizations.

What you have

This role requires a highly motivated and experienced data engineer with pride of ownership reflected through clean application design, code quality, a disciplined software development approach, and accountability for delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • A university degree from a well-respected academic institution; advanced degrees in Information management, Computer Science, and/or other professional certifications are a plus
  • At least 9 years' experience developing enterprise class data pipelines

    using Informatica PowerCenter, SQL Server, Control M.
  • Experience in designing Informatica ETL pipelines to build Enterprise Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Operational data stores (ODS) with a strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Modeling concepts.
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries and SQL Tuning and knowledge of database design and development (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Within the context of building ETL pipelines, the candidate needs hands-on experience on all aspects of data handling: cleansing and standardization, normalization, merging, change data capture, data integration, reconciliation, and transformations.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in Agile - Scrum teams
  • Experience of Bit-Bucket and CICD pipeline
  • Proven record of delivering technology solutions within agreed upon timeframes
  • Prior experience working in the investment management industry is a plus

Colorado Compensation

Target Total Compensation: 121,000 - 242,000
