Your Opportunity
The Corporate Systems team in Charles Schwab's IT organization is looking for a motivated, Senior-Level Software Developer with over five years' experience to work on our Treasury business applications. You will be working closely with our business partners, you will assist with the enhancement and maintenance of Schwab internal solutions for the Capital Markets, Mid-Office, Cash Management, Treasury Finance, and Liquidity Management business areas. What you are good at- Provide technical expertise on critical enhancement and maintenance development endeavors
- Engage with variety of staff: Business System Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, QA, Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with team members and stakeholders
- Actively encourage and help less experienced developers to advance team knowledge base
- Promote the Scrum Teams and overall Agile maturity efforts
- Aid in delivering technical strategies and solutions, application development, and end-user services
- Work collaboratively as a team player to develop mutually acceptable solutions
- Solve problems and provide support, taking responsibility to make decisions when appropriate
- Take on diverse set of projects and tasks including working to improve technology, tools and processes that are leveraged across Software Engineering job family
- Provide crisp and well-understood directives and communication
- Learn and understand applications from a technical and business perspective
- Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and lead by example
- Be comfortable with ambiguity while seeking clarity
- Passion for and experience in distributed technologies, primarily Java-based applications
- CI/CD exposure, including Bitbucket/Bamboo automated build/deploy solutions
- Familiarity with the Spring toolset, such as Spring Cloud Data Flow, Spring Boot, etc.
- Strong fundamentals in SQL (MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
- 5+ years Experience in an Agile development environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, organization, and influencing skills
- Team player with strong collaborative qualities and a positive demeanor
- Ability to listen and encourage thoughts, opinions and discussions where needed
- Exposure to testing methodologies, including unit testing, TDD/BDD, and automation
- Familiarity with test automation tools, such as Cucumber, Specflow, Mabl, Ruby, etc.
- Experience with cloud-ready platforms such Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, or Azure
- Familiarity with the financial services domain or a strong desire to learn about the industry
