This is a regular fulltime, non-exempt non-supervisory position.Summary:Procures sources and negotiates the buying of machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Monitors performance of suppliers. Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions. Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and market dynamics. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages .Primary responsibilities:

Assists in identifying material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production schedules.

Analyzes data, determines factors that affect prices, and determines best value consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.

Analyzes trends, reviews quotes, negotiates prices, and selects or recommends suppliers.

May visit supplier sites to maintain business relationships and/or resolve issues.

Follows up orders placed, approves payment, and maintains necessary records of orders.

Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and receipt of materials and services.

May provide training and/or presentations or other employees regarding purchasing procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in purchasing supplies and miscellaneous services.

Knowledge of FAR regulations pertaining to acquisition of goods and services a plus.

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Proficient in standard purchasing (CostPoint) software
