ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Own and successfully execute the full scope of DOT compliance regulation oversight.

Supervise, schedule, train, and develop employees performing work in the areas of pipeline safety quality management and compliance support.

Oversee field verification evaluations to ensure OQ and training effectiveness and understanding.

Assist in the development, operation and maintenance of programs that assist and enhance the collection and analysis of operation and maintenance data.

Participate in federal and state auditing process of BHE operations locations to ensure integrity in compliance with BHE procedures.

Develop and maintain a successful partnership with gas operations, technical training and process training departments to communicate, train and implement changes to operation and maintenance procedures.

Actively participate in maintaining favorable community relations.

Partner with other departments and personnel to continuously improve processes.

Respond to emergency situations as support for Gas Operations.

Manage employee issues at the operational level, with assistance from Human Resources.

Lead projects and provide guidance to staff.

Carry out all duties with an uncompromising sense of integrity to exacting standards of professionalism.

Serve as key member of business unit leadership team.

Assist in the development of budgets and initiatives.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Requires effective working relationships with state and federal pipeline safety commission.

Requires effective working relationships with BHE operations management of all levels

Monitor and encourage management to address employee pipeline safety issues and recommend options to accomplish corrective actions.

Utilize a strong customer service mindset to effectively manage internal/external stakeholders

Assist Pipeline Safety Director and Pipeline Safety Quality Management Manager with the continuous improvement of the corporate-wide safety program while supporting business unit leaders.

Travel within geographic region (generally Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming). Occasional travel outside the geographic region may be required including overnight and/or weekend travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of (5) five years of utility industry experience and knowledge of gas operations required.

Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Supervisory experience or proven ability to lead employees. Proven leadership skills including coaching and engaging.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.

Ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment.

Financial management, budgetary, planning, and forecasting skills.

Enhanced knowledge of DOT 192 and ability to interpret code and the O&M.
