Engineering Technician

Job Description:The Engineering Technician will support mission requirements for the USAFA customer. The position assists in the planning, design and construction of projects. The employee will foster communication between personnel, Architectural & Engineering firms, customers, construction contractors, the project delivery team, and other key stakeholders. The employee will obtain, track, and organize project information from the planning phase through the construction and project closeout phases.

Job Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain the project tracker dashboard showing project execution timelines and key event milestones on a weekly basis style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Maintain three Engineering Flight SharePoint pages, to include posting of the dashboard, meeting minutes, and calendar of key events style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Conduct reviews of professional studies, reports, and analysis style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Observe and record site conditions, activities, and construction quality style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Provide clear documentation of findings and results style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Communicates observations and information to Project Engineer and Government Personnel style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Prepares and review construction contract SOWs referencing UFC and other code requirements style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Prepares construction cost estimates style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Performs pre-construction site surveys, attend regular project meetings. style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Creates and maintains project folders and project package components (i.e. liquidated damages, green procurement compliance, schedules, funding documents, QA plans, etc.) style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Prepare reports and recommendations for project sponsors and stakeholders style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Reviews project progress and results; provide project status to enable resource allocation decisions style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Simultaneously conduct technical reviews of multiple design & construction projects style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Conducts Quality Assurance reviews of on-going engineering projects and provides reports and recommendations to the client style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Maintains current engineering/project data for assigned projects in specified Enterprise Business System (TRIRIGA), Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office or other software, as specified by Government direction style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Ability to receive Common Access Cards (CAC) style="background-color: #ffffcc;" style="background-color: #ffffcc;" SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY style="background-color: #ffffcc;" style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Non-supervisory. Reports to CNFC Program Manager style="background-color: #ffffcc;" style="background-color: #ffffcc;" style="background-color: #ffffcc;" EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Associates Degree in any Engineering discipline or Construction Management is highly desired; Bachelor's Degree is desirable style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Minimum 5 years' experience in construction activities style="background-color: #ffffcc;" style="background-color: #ffffcc;" KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Experience and understanding of the military design and construction process style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Ability to simultaneously conduct technical reviews of multiple design & construction projects style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Ability to work independently with minimal supervision style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Excellent communication skills in the oral, visual, and written mediums style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical designs and drawings is required style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Experience with design and construction of high-interest, high-visibility Air Force projects is highly desirable style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Ability to successfully pass drug screening and a federal background check is required style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Experience with MS Project, AutoCADD, Primavera, and Visio a plus style="background-color: #ffffcc;" style="background-color: #ffffcc;" WORK ENVIRONMENT style="background-color: #ffffcc;" Most work is performed in a climate-controlled environment but regular field activities including project site surveys and visits is required
