Mix of shifts based on availability Min 2 shifts per 6 week schedule. Call shifts range from 2-6 shifts per 6 week schedule. Under the direction of an RN, assists in smooth daily operations of the PACU, OR, or GI Lab by performing routine and delegated ancillary duties according to standards and policies. Assists nurses in preparing and transporting patients for surgery. Helps maintain cleanliness and upkeep of equipment and supplies in the care environment. What You Bring/Job Requirements In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Strong communication skills Ability to read, write and speak English Basic computer skills Previous experience in hospital setting and surgical services preferred High school diploma or GED required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) Your Connected Community When people and places align, incredible things happen. The Surgery department at Parker Adventist Hospital has 14 operating rooms, and we perform approximately 8,200 surgeries per year. We specialize in cancer care, robotic surgery, complex spine, brain surgery, weight-loss surgery as well as joint-replacement. We are a Nationally Certified Bariatric Surgery Program by the Joint Commission, Level II Trauma Center with one staffed operating room - a designated trauma room. We are also a Joint Commission Certified Spine Program, and a Joint Commission Certified Joint Replacement Program.Our mission involves education and professional development at all levels. We have a perioperative residency program for nurses interested in transitioning to the operating room as well as surgical tech students. Teaching is part of every associate's responsibility. Patient safety is always the focus of everyeducational opportunity and all perioperative team members are true patient safety advocates. This is a desirable department as we offer a variety of shift opportunities including eight, ten, or 12-hour shifts. We have a day shift, evening shift, and night shift. Being on call is a requirement that is compensated, and theresponse time is 30 minutes.
