Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist to support environmental projects for our Denver, CO office. The position will be based in Pueblo, CO.
The selected candidate will help support site investigations, environmental due diligence, compliance, technical writing, communications, data management, and logistical support for projects primarily based in the Pueblo, CO area.
Work may include:
field work to collect samples or take field measurements
site visits to document environmental conditions at sites/facilities
technical and logistical support to support base installation operations
writing to prepare due diligence assessments and other reports
data analysis and management
biological field survey assistance
on-site client support
air, storm water, and hazardous materials management compliance documentation.
Daily interaction with project teams, clients, subcontractors and regulatory agency staff is expected.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate is required to have/be:
Demonstrated ability to successfully support complex and time sensitive projects, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Superior technical writing skills
Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
Strong team player
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, MS Access, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and GIS applications is preferred.
You must be able to/have:
Manage time well and work on tasks as part of a larger project team, as well as independently.
Be highly motivated, client focused and work well in a team environment.
Excellent client interaction and organizational skills
Translate regulatory language into "plain English" to clearly communicate requirements to non-regulatory personnel.
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology or a biological/physical science is required.
OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.
Asbestos training and certification in the State of Colorado is preferred.
You must be able to walk around project sites, conduct field sampling, and be physically able to carry up to 25 pounds of equipment such as maps, Global Positioning System (GPS) unit, field screening equipment and cameras during field work. Field activities take place in a variety of all weather conditions, and can occur in remote locations and include areas of uneven terrain.
The work environment will include a diverse mix of office and field work, including sampling and site visits. Some field work may require overnight travel. There will roughly 20% travel.
This position requires you to drive on a regular basis and will require passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check.
